The Pellston Hornets varsity baseball team welcomed the Atlanta Huskies in a Friday night non-conference matchup. Junior Glenn Bonter started on the mound for the Hornets and gave a dominating performance through 3.1 IP, retiring 9 straight batters (striking out the first 7). Bonter was pulled in the 4th after 50 pitches since the Hornets have a conference matchup with Onaway on Monday.

Pitching line for the Hornets:
G. Bonter: 3.1 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 2 H, 7 K, 0 BB, 0 HP
E. Landon: 1.2 IP, 10 R, 4 ER, 6 H, 2 K, 2 BB, 0 HP
C. Zink: 1.0 IP, 1 R, 0 ER, 1 H, 1 K, 2 BB, 0 HP

Offensively, the Hornets struggled scoring baserunners through much of the game with the exception of a 6 run 2nd inning. Rave O’Neil and Ian Reimann were walked then Sam Daily, Jared Krussell, Sage LaLonde and Glenn Bonter would put on a hit parade.

Sage LaLonde went 2-3, Jared Krussell was 2-4 with a double. Glenn Bonter and Sam Daily added hits for Pellston.

Atlanta took the lead in the top of the 5th when 2 hits, a walk and 3 errors allowed the Huskies to plate 7 runs. They would add 4 more in the 6th.
