Jared Krussell started game 2 for the Hornets on the mound and would prove to be very effective pitching 4.0 innings giving up 0 runs on 0 hits while walking 4 and striking out 1. Krussell, who closed game 1, would be the winning pitcher. Chase Zink pitched 1.2 innings in relief, giving up no hits, no walks and striking out 3. Blake Cassidy would close the game with a single pitch (fly ball to right field).

At the plate, the Hornets were led by Krussell who helped his own cause with a double going 1-3 and scoring 2 runs. Bonter added an RBI triple. Blake Cassidy, Sam Daily and Ethan Landon all added singles for the Hornets.

After Thursday’s split, Pellston moves to 11-16-1 on the season and heads to Mancelona on Friday, May 24 for a 4:00 pm start.
