The Hornets dropped a tough game to a very well coached Bellaire team on the road Friday night. The Hornets matched the Bellaire intensity early and worked the offensive glass to get on the scoreboard and keep things close. The Eagles turned up the pressure from their, and the Hornets struggled with execution in the second quarter. Pellston responded well in the second half, pairing quality defense and rebounding with an offensive aggression that was missing for most of the first half. Madison Hutchinson was a factor on both ends of the court, pickup 5 rebounds to go with 5 points and great defense in a tough matchup. Brynn Warner hit two threes to go with 5 rebounds, and Madison Brown scored 4 points. Beth Minzey, Emily Coffell, and Vivian Dyer also scored for the Hornets. Jenna Jurek played her best game of the season, and Emma Irwin was a major factor on the boards in the second half. The Hornets will be looking to get into the win column Monday against Inland Lakes on the road. Go Hornets!
