Pellston hit the road, making the long trip down to Hale for a week 6 MWC-East conference matchup. The Hornets would find the end zone first as Glenn Bonter connected with Lakota Worthington for a 6 yd TD reception with 1:27 left in the first. Alex Dreffs would rush in for the 2-point conversion. With 3:03 left in the first half, Bonter would find Jordan Williams for a 13 yard touchdown reception, followed by a successful Bonter to Williams pass for the 2-point conversion. At the half, the Hornets held on to a 16-12 lead.
It was all Hornets in the second half as Pellston came out to took their opening drive 55 yards and scoring on a 45 yard pass from Glenn Bonter to Lakota Worthington, making the score 22-12. With 2:47 left in the third, Bonter would connect with Zavin Goodrich on a 17 yard touchdown reception. One minute into the fourth quarter, Goodrich would break free on a 49 yard touchdown run. Alex Dreffs kicked the extra point giving the Hornets a 35-12 lead. Three plays later, Xavier Schansema picked off a pass that set up Pellston’s final touchdown. Chase Zink connected with Worthington on the 7 yard touchdown reception. Pellston didn’t allow any points the second half. Defensively the Hornets were led by Lakota Worthington with 8 solo tackles, one fumble recovery, and one interception. Case Kilpatrick had 12 combined tackles. Glenn Bonter finished the evening with 226 yards passing including 4 touchdown passes. The final score had Pellston on top 41-12. The Hornets will host the Hillman Tigers this Friday at 7:00 PM.
