The girls varsity basketball team hit the road again on Wednesday night, traveling down to Forest Area for their 3rd straight road game. Pellston trailed for much of the game but outscored the Warriors 26-13 in the second half, picking up the 41-39 win. Strong second half defense helped put the Hornets in a position to close the gap. Clutch free throw shooting down the stretch by Billie Lalonde and Joslyn LaLonde sealed the victory. Cammie Krueger had a strong rebounding night hauling down 13 followed by Mariah Redding with 7, Ellie O’Neil 5 Emilee Keller 4. The Lady Hornets were lead by Joslyn LaLonde with 17 points and 9 steals followed by Billie Lalonde’s 13 points and 7 steals. The scoring was rounded out by Lydia Greenman with 4, Cammie Krueger 3, Ellie O’Neil 2 and Mariah Redding 2.

The Hornets move to 1-1 in Ski Valley Conference play and 1-2 on the season. They host Inland Lakes on Friday night. Student theme night is Hawaiian!
