Posen High School
Pellston High School
It took all forty-eight minutes plus a few added seconds to finalize the Pellston Homecoming game against Posen. Pellston jumped out early in the first quarter on the Vikings. Josiah Crawford took the hand off from Chase Zink and punched in a 47 TD run. Early in the second quarter the Hornets would find the end zone again on a 73 yard pass from Zink to Lakota Worthington. The two point conversion was successful, and the Hornets were up 14-0. The Hornets wouldn’t find the end zone again until the fourth quarter when Crawford punched it in from 1 yard out. The score at that time was Posen 30, Pellston 20. Pellston’s next TD was a play of pure beauty as Case Kilpatrick reached out with one hand, batted the ball, then managed to haul it in, side-step multiple Posen defenders, and take it to the house for a 41 yard pick six. The score was 30 to 26 in favor of Posen. With a little over a minute left in the game, the Hornets weren’t done scoring. With three starting offensive players out, JT Keiser stepped in as QB and connected with Crawford for a 45 yard TD pass as time expired. To cap off the play, TJ Gough took the final snap as QB and handed the ball off to Weengush Craven who slammed in the 2 point conversion.
Zink ended the night throwing for 102 yards and 1 TD. Crawford rushed for 161 yards and had 62 yards receiving for a total of 3 touchdowns. Worthington hauled in 116 yards and 1 TD. Keiser passed for 44 yards and 1 TD. Defensively Craven, Crawford, and Worthington had 7 tackles each. Kilpatrick had 6 tackles and 1 interception for a TD.
The final score was Posen 42, Pellston 34.
